PUERTO PLATA.- Saltos de Damajagua Natural Monument (27 Waterfalls) received the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence, which maintains that protected area of the Puerto Plata destination in the Hall of Fame of this important website of tourist opinions.

The recognition obtained for the sixth consecutive year is the result of the favorable opinions of the thousands of foreign tourists who visit the Natural Monument that has an extension of 6 square kilometers, which have placed this attraction as number one within its category in all the northern area of the Dominican Republic.

“This award, more than an award, is a commitment of the project to continue with the continuous improvements and to make the experience always pleasant for the visitors,” said Roberto Luis Gómez Santana, who is the administrator of the Saltos de Damajagua Natural Monument.

The sight is located between the municipalities of Imbert and Altamira, destined for excursions in its 27 Charcos that allow the visitor to swim, slide down natural slides and jump from one to another, because it has three stretches between puddles, waterfalls, slides and varied ecosystems with native flora and fauna, as well as diverse natural landscapes.

It is highlighted that this tourist attraction is a protected area declared as such in 2004 through Law 202-04, since 2005 it is administered through the co-management modality between the Ministry of the Environment and the Rio Damajagua Guide Association. , forming part of the administration the Ministry of Tourism, Governorate of Puerto Plata, City Hall of Imbert and the Hotel Association of Playa Dorada.
