Hundreds of Puertoplateneans participated in the ‘Pink Walk for Life’ in solidarity with those affected by Cancera
PUERTO PLATA.- Hundreds of Puerto Plata citizens of different ages and social classes joined this weekend in a people’s march along several local roads in the traditional “Pink Walk for Life”event.
This event, which constitutes a great manifestation of solidarity and hope, is organized by the Patron Hands United Against Cancer presided by the Bishop of Puerto Plata: Monsignor Julio César Corniel Amaro.
The Pink Walk for Life 2019, departed from the Plaza Independencia (Central Park) continuing along Beller and Emilio Prud ’Homme streets until entering the Malecon avenue entering the La Puntilla Amphitheater.
There Pastor Rafael Martínez invoked God, in addition Bishop Corniel Amaro explained that in the aforementioned walk economic funds are collected to continue offering services to the population of Oncology Consultations, Chemotherapy, medical care, prevention and early detection of Cancer.
Similarly, a soldier performed a touch of silence with a bugle in memory of citizens who have died as a result of Cancer and pink balloons were thrown into the air, while Mrs. Carmen Minyetti offered her testimony as a survivor of the disease .
After the ceremony, an entertainment part began in which a merengue orchestra was presented, in addition to the sensational youth soundtrack “Yucahú Band” that represents Puerto Plata in the Dominican’s Got Talent contest.
