This week thousands of tourists arrive in Puerto Plata and the North region by active operation of flights and cruises
PUERTO PLATA.- The north coast is a gateway of approximately 23,737 cruise tourists, in addition to hundreds of visitors arriving to the country by air through 202 flights at the airports of Santiago, Puerto Plata, and Samaná.
Since last Monday, Jan 16th, tourists have been arriving at the maritime terminal Amber Cove of Maimón in Puerto Plata – the cruise ship Carnival Magic with 5 thousand occupants.
On Tuesday, Jan 17, MSC Divine cruises arrived with 5 733 people onboard and Fathom Adonia with one thousand occupants, on Wednesday, Jan 18th, Carnival Conquest came with about 4,152 occupants.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Jan 19th, at the Bay of Samaná, the AIDAvita tourist cruise arrived with about 1,655 visitors, and on Friday, January 20, there will be arriving at the Amber Cove terminal in Maimón, the Costa Deliziosa cruise ships with 1,928 passengers and the Carnival Splendor with 4,152 occupants.
According to a source who requested anonymity, the presence of tourists in Puerto Plata and other provinces of the North coast keeps increasing also due to Cibao International Airport in Santiago, where during this week about 104 flights from the United States, Canada And European countries arrived.
Those flights to Santiago will be joined by the 82 scheduled by the La Unión General Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata and 16 flights arriving at the Presidente Juan Bosch International Airport, located in the El Catey community in the province of Sánchez (Samaná) .
