Police continues preventive operations in the province of Puerto Plata

PUERTO PLATA .- The North Regional Directorate of the National Police reported that in order to reduce criminal actions, officers and agents of that institution will continue to carry out preventive operations in all municipalities in the province of Puerto Plata.

Through a press release, the police commander of this jurisdiction, General Pablo de Jesús Dipré, explains that these operational crime prevention actions will continue throughout the province, in order to guarantee peace and order in the province.

While the police spokesman in Puerto Plata, Colonel José Armando Brito Melo, reported that during these operations they seized about 30 people for research purposes, 32 motorcycles were held for not carrying any type of documents, 6 portions of drugs were confiscated, and the detained people will be sent to court in the next days.

Brito Melo said that in another operation on a smaller scale in the urban area of ​​Puerto Plata, about 36 people were arrested for research purposes, 53 motorcycles were held for their drivers not carrying any kind of documents, 14 white arms were seized and 6 servings of narcotic drugs.

It is explained that the seizure of people and the retention of motorcycles also were carried out in the Sosúa-Cabarete road stretch and in the municipality of Villa Isabela.
