New Police Commander in Puerto Plata
The criminal boom in Puerto Plata ia a reason for appointing a new commander of the North Regional Directorate, General Pablo de Jesús Dipré, who has not yet arrived at Puerto Plata.
While he is still expected to come, few criminals on board of motorcycles docked at a gunpoint a total of three lottery stalls in different parts of Puerto Plata. After shooting a young woman who worked in the building, they took thousands of pesos in cash and fled.
The lottery stalls that were docked on Monday were Banca Papo in the Cuesta Amarilla sector of San Marcos, Banca Basilio Sport located on Emilio Prud ‘Homme Street and Banca Fior located on Avenida Manolo Tavares Justo.
Similarly, during a midday today, unknown people stole an electric 5kw invertor in the Liceo Gregorio Luperón in Sosúa, and they also took over 250 bottles of soft drinks and two refrigerators from the school cafeteria.
These delinquent events occur only hours after a change of command took place in the Northern Regional Directorate of the National Police, where General César Augusto Sena Rojas was replaced in those functions by his counterpart Pablo de Jesus Dipré.
