It is getting colder
You will need a jacket, sweater or shawl for any activities planned for this week. The weather service says that starting on Wednesday, 18 January 2017, temperatures will get even cooler. Forecasts are for lows of 15 degrees Celsius in Santiago, 18C in Santo Domingo, and even lower in mountain areas, where freezing temperatures have already been recorded. Polar winds are blowing in from the north and a stationary front is parked over Puerto Rico.
In the next 48 hours, humidity will decline with shiny blue skies during the day and few rain showers.
Onamet has forecast light rain for Espaillat (Moca), Duarte (San Francisco de Macorís), Hermanas Mirabal (Salcedo), Santiago, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel (Bonao), Samaná, María Trinidad Sanchez (Cabrera), Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, El Seibo and La Altagracia (Punta Cana).
