International Enduro Bike Championship was held in Cabarete last week

PUERTO PLATA.- With the participation of competitors from Spain, England, Italy, United States and the host -  Dominican Republic, the Machete Hard Enduro 2017 was held in Cabarete. An event that for the 1st time took place in our country.

Cabarete was the place chosen for the celebration of the second version of the Machete Hard Enduro, making for the first time in the history of enduro, the country manages to enter the world circuit of this sport, which had about 100 pilots who participated in the most demanding engine race ever made in the area.

From Kite beach, and specifically the restaurant Tuva, the event started. There was an exhibition of bikes and a track with obstacles where the riders showed the public their agility and skills, and then they set off on their journey. All the professional drivers that operated in the categories: Pro, Hard and Paseo.

Each of the categories presented extreme situations that tested the capacity of each competitor from amateurs to elite drivers of the country, among them world-class racers such as Red Bull and KTM athletes, Alfredo Gómez from Spain, Johnny Walker of England, Cody Webb of the United States, among others.

According to information provided by Mabel Andreiny Elena, the tourist resort of Cabarete was the venue for this event, which is one of the region’s most important competitions in the Extreme Enduro category, becoming the first Caribbean championship and the third in Latin America.
