FEDUJAZZ celebrates the International Jazz Day in Cabarete

PUERTO PLATA.- The Educational Foundation of Jazz, FEDUJAZZ, celebrated the International Jazz Day, instituted by UNESCO, with a new day called Green Generation Jazz, with musical presentations and fashion show.

The activity organized for the purpose of raising funds for the school of FEDUJAZZ, gave the musical note from the access to the pool area of ​​the Milennium Resort hotel, where a quartet with young people from Casa de Arte de Sosúa performed various musical themes with violin and Cello, on the way, human statues of street musicians.

The formal presentations began with the performance of the Blues Ensemble group composed of FEDUJAZZ students, under the direction of Maestro Enmanuel Peña, who played Is not No Sunshine, and the Sonnymoon for Two Blues, performed with grace and enthusiasm by a group, the drummer is only 8 years old.

After that, the Caribbean fashion show began by Sissy Bermudez, with a colorful and diverse proposal of summer, with the novelty that 20 mothers accompanied of sons and daughters, exhibiting the creations of the recognized designer who expressed that it has been a one of his most rewarding experiences working with this group during the weeks, in his 34 years of professional career.

Don Andrés Pastoriza, president of the Association for Sustainable Development of Sosúa, was in charge of auctioning a work by the artist Adolfo Faringthon.

The audience enjoyed the dance performed by the Yemallá tribe led by Nina Elemva. The music download continued with the performance of Fedujazz Messengers and Roberto Santana, composed of teachers Enmanuel Peña, Jeffry Casimiro, flute and tenor saxophone, Josh, tenor sax and Gustavo Hernandez on drums. The orchestra next to the singer Alisson Sade interpreted numerous subjects doing honor to the purest tradition of the Jazz.
