Dominicans still in 6th with 12 gold medals in Bolivarian Games

Dominican Republic team athletes won 46 (12 gold, 11 silver and 23 bronze) medals in the Bolivarian Games ongoing from 11-25 November 2017 in Santa Marta, Colombia.

Over the weekend, the Dominican women’s bowling team (Aumi Guerra, Astrid Valiente, Virginia Bello and Maria Paula Villas) won silver and bronze in bowling. Divers Frandiel Gomez and Jose David Calderon Batista won bronze. Badminton finished with a silver and three bronze. The silver went to Nairobi Jimenez and Arianna Sanchez, and the bronze went to men’s doubles team made by Nelson Javier and William Cabrera.

Dominicans have won gold medals in bowling, boxing, nautical skiing, artistic gymnastics, judo, wrestling and women’s volleyball.
