Carnival Puerto Plata 2017 has been announced for February
PUERTO PLATA.- Despite the fact that the Ministry of Tourism has not yet fulfilled the payment of the last year’s sponsorship, the Puerto Plata Carnival Union (UCAPPLATA) announced that the carnival parades will return against the wind and tide every Sunday in the month of February.
The president of UCAPPLATA, Dr. Juan Oscar Souffront (Yanco), said that the assembly of the carnival of this Atlantic province involves an investment of more than 8 million pesos.
Yanco Souffront said that the “Puerto Plata 2017 Carnival” will begin on Sunday, February 5, where details about the event will be announced at a press conference scheduled for Tuesday, January 24.
The president of the Carnival Union of Puerto Plata (UCAPPLATA), said that the authorities of the Ministry of Tourism are still pending the payment of two million for sponsorship, which was destined to reward the groups, Devils Cojuelos and individuals who were Winners of prizes in the edition of the carnival in 2016.
