Saturday, July 1st, ‘Canada Day’ was celebrated in Sosúa in the main street Pedro Clisante. Canada celebrated this year its 150th anniversary. Sosúa houses a large number of Canada residents and regular visitors who obviously wanted to celebrate the Canada Day appropriately. Hence, last Saturday the Canada Day Street Fair was held in Sosúa. From 11 o’clock in the morning until the evening, the street was closed to traffic. At 10 AM it started with a pancake breakfast at the Jolly Roger with real Canadian maple syrup. There were activities and games for children with wonderful prizes.

Including a tug of war competition and a Kleenex ping pong game. There was a market and Craft Show. The afternoon was for the whole family. In the evening you could enjoy the terraces in the street and the performance of a DJ at the restaurant Jolly Rogers. The event was organized by Jolly Rogers bar / restaurant with the cooperation of several businesses in the street. The proceeds from the event go to DCDR (Dogs and Cats of the Dominican Republic).
