AMET tightens traffic control

From Monday, 3rd July, the traffic police (AMET) will monitor traffic laws stricter. Do not drive through the red light, do not stop at a crosswalk (prohibited) and don’t speak on a cell phone while driving. Slower traffic must stay in the right lane, after passing another vehicle it has to return immediately back to the right lane. In every vehicle a first aid kit, a warning triangle and a fire extinguisher should be available. An offense will be fined with 5,000 pesos. Until Friday, July 7th, offenders got away with a warning. After that the traffic police will hand out tickets for violations.

When not in possession of ownership papers and driver’s license your vehicle will be confiscated.

It is extremely dangerous to carry a fire extinguisher inside your automobile and not recommended.

If AMET wants to pay the insurance cost involved when someones car explodes and burns due to an exploding fire extinguisher I’ll get in line with that stupidity.

Where do these people come up with this stuff?
