Airlines cancelled flights to Puerto Plata airport due to Hurricane Maria

PUERTO PLATA.- Several airlines opted to cancel some of their flight operations for Tuesday, Sep 19, Wednesday, Sep 20 and Thursday, Sep 21st at the International airport Gregorio Luperón of Puerto Plata, due to the route of Hurricane Maria .

A source of full credit revealed that airlines Air Canada, Sunwing Airlines, and Air Transat, activated their emergency plans to offer services to their customers who wish to leave Dominican republic between now and tomorrow, for which aircraft of these companies are ready to evacuate.

In addition, the company Aeropuertos Dominos Siglo XXI (AERODOM) reported that in Puerto Plata, Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge and WestJet airlines rescheduled their operations on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 to and from Montreal and Toronto.

Likewise, the authorities of the Gregorio Luperón International Airport (AIGL) in Puerto Plata, are prepared with preventive actions before the imminent passage of the powerful hurricane Maria, which according to the weather forecast would be touching the Dominican territory in early hours of Thursday morning.
