US lifts agro ban that cost Dominican economy US$400M
Santo Domingo.- The US government has just lifted the ban on all exports from Dominican Republic´s farm area of where the Medfly hadn’t been detected, listindiario.com reports.
According to federal order DA-2016-03, the ban is still in effect on products from La Altagracia province (east), the area where the insect was detected.
The ban in products now on the market and can be exported freely had cost the economy around US$400.0 million.
