The two agents who were fired are Sixto de la Cruz Ramírez, commander of the police station in San Cristóbal and José Herrera, director of criminal investigations for San Cristóbal.
Herrera will be replaced by Lieutenant Colonel Julio Ernesto who had replaced him less than a month ago. De la Cruz Ramírez is being replaced by a colonel named as Ceballos Nivar.
An investigation has been underway since Darlin Franco reported finding the RD$1.8 million in the garbage dump in Yaguate, San Cristóbal.
