Tourist dies in Punta Cana buggy crash

A 68-year old tourist from the United States, Carlos Arturo Tello, was killed on Thursday, 31 December 2015 during a buggy excursion with his wife in Punta Cana. He suffered serious injuries in the accident and died at the Punta Cana Medical Center. He was riding the buggy with his wife Deyanira Tello, who also suffered serious head and pelvic injuries and is reported to be in a stable condition. The couple’s buggy was struck by a Pontiac driven by a Russian citizen on the Boulevard Turistico del Este, as reported by the Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET). The driver was arrested and faces charges in the case.
