The Prince of Punta Cana book
Leading tourism researcher and analyst Juan Llado has published his first novel, The Prince of Punta Cana. Llado says the novel is an opportunity to vindicate the often-denigrated animators at resorts around the country. It is the story of Nazario Cespedes, who after growing up in a rural area in Puerto Plata, went from working in a colmado in Santo Domingo to joining the animation team in a large Punta Cana resort. At the resort he meets Stella, from the Faroe Islands (Denmark), with whom he shares similar values of getting ahead. They soon marry and embark on an admirable business career comparable to that of many entrepreneurs from first world countries.
The book is a fast read. The first edition was released in Spanish. The English version is now available for US$2.99 on Amazon Kindle. The Spanish version is available at Centro Cuesta de Libro on Av. 27 de Febrero in Santo Domingo.
