Sosua Police officer fights with loaded gun in hand after warning shot fired
This Saturday evening just passed, a Haitian guy got into a physical commotion with a Cestur Police officer, after the officer had unnecessary fired a warning shot in the air. The Haitian man supposedly stood up for himself and the officer then engaged in a physical commotion with the Haitian guy while still waving his loaded gun around.
This again proves that Police here are neither trained in handling situations of conflict correctly, or in when and how to engage with their firearms.
There seems to be a widespread “John Wayne” attitude prominent within both Cestur and the National Police, where it seems more important to keep proving who is in charge while targeting innocent tourists, locals, and business owners.
Again they prove to keep practicing law abuse rather than law enforcement. The result of this is as it’s been for years – an ongoing aggravation of all tourists and locals – only scaring existing and new tourists off coming to the area or the country.
