Six injured in an accident on Caribe Tours bus
SANTIAGO – Six people were injured yesterday after a bus of the company Caribe Tours traveling with passengers slid off the Duarte highway, section Villa Elisa-Hatillo Palma, in Doña Antonia, Montecristi section.
The wounded are private employee Alexis Rosario Gil, 23, a resident of Los Tres Ojos de Santo Domingo Este, who has multiple trauma fracture in his left arm and cuts in his face. It is being held at the Jose Maria Cabral y Baez Hospital in this city.
They also injured, Marelis Tavarez Cruz, 43; Andrea Veras, 40; Zuñilda Estévez Bueno, 64, Lisanlly Belliard Rodríguez y José Apolinar Santos Santos, 65, living in Montecristi, Villa Vasquez, Guayubín and Dajabon.
The injured received first aid at the public hospital in Hatillo Palma, and then referred to the Cabral y Baez.
According to the police report, the group presents traumas, fractures, shoulder injuries and head injuries caused during the accident happened on Sunday afternoon, when they were aboard the bus Mercedes Benz, owned by the transport company Caribe Tours.
The bus, which left the terminal of the company in Dajabon, was driven by David Emmanuel Bisonó Reyes, 40, in the municipality of El Pino which borders Haiti.
Law enforcement authorities and members of the Civil Defense did not specify the number of passengers on board of the bus.
