Punta Cana Is a Favorite Destination for Millennials

According to The Fun Plan, a leading Spanish travel agency specializing in the organization of fun trips for groups, Punta Cana became an important destination for Millennials in 2015.  In total, some 3.1 million international tourists (169,000 from Spain), visited Punta Cana during 2015.

According to Greta Almestar, country manager of “Atrapalo.pe., Millennials spend approximately 20% of their monthly income to travel.

In addition to Punta Cana, the group also prefers the Mayan Riviera (Mexico), Ibiza (Spain), Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Berlin (Germany).

“There is no doubt that Millennials love a beach environment, and truly worship Punta Cana. A trip to Saona Island, off the southern coast of Punta Cana, is a must for excellent snorkeling; a tour of Macao Beach is a favorite for surfers, and ‘El Cortecito’ beach is for kayakers,” says the Venezuelan newspaper “El Nacional.”

In 2015 Punta Cana received 3.1 million international visitors, 2.7 million from the U.S., Canada, and Europe (169,000 from Spain).

During the first two months of 2016, 568,000 visitors traveled to Punta Cana.  The region’s hotel area currently provides 34,000 rooms and hundreds of villas and apartments.
