Puerto Plata is ready to welcome thousands of vacationers during Easter week 2016
PUERTO PLATA – Puerto Plata destination is ready to receive thousands of visitors from Monday, March 21st to Sunday, March 27th, who are coming to the Puerto Plata region on board two cruise ships, 78 flights from Canada, United States, Europe and the Caribbean islands to spend the Easter holiday in this part of the Dominican Republic.
According to official data supplied by the local authorities of the Ministry of Tourism, they have deployed a comprehensive security device to the region, all the hotels in the province are completely full with both natives and foreigners.
It’s reported that the terminal Amber Cove, located 15 minutes from Puerto Plata, has accepted total of 6, 522 visitors since Monday so far, on board the cruise ships Carnival Sensation and Carnival Ecstasy.
The Easter Week 2016 will be characterized by having ideal climatic conditions for outdoor activities according to the forecast of the National Meteorological Office (ONAMET). The municipal authorities since last week launched cleaning and beautification measures on main roads and places of entertainment to provide a satisfactory welcome and a comfortable stay to the thousands of visitors.
Also, the security agencies of the State such as the Ministry of Defence (Armed Forces), National Police, Metropolitan Transportation Authority (AMET), Specialized Corps Tourism Security (CESTUR), among other institutions service in advance have coordinated actions preventive and surveillance to prevent the occurrence of accidents and vandalism against vacationers who every year come to Puerto Plata.
