No official vehicles in campaigning
As of today, Tuesday 19 April 2016, the Central Electoral Board (JCE) will confiscate any official vehicles taking part in political events, including campaign motorcades. According to JCE president Roberto Rosario, the owners of these vehicles will be prosecuted.
During an interview on the Hoy Mismo program yesterday, Monday 18 April 2016, Rosario said that the JCE had also agreed that each embassy would be allowed a delegation of three people to observe the elections and that included the United States Embassy, which had asked to send more. Rosario said the US Embassy could send a representative from USAID if they wished.
He went on to say that to prevent confusion they would be issuing a guide that would set out the scope and the parameters for the guests and the observers.
