Netflix to Film Movie in Various Dominican Cities
The film “The True Memoirs of an International Assassin” is scheduled to be filmed in Santo Domingo, the beachfront community of Boca Chica – situated 25 minutes east of Santo Domingo – and the rural community of Monte Plata, on the country’s northeast region.
The film, starring Kevin James and Andy Garcia, is directed by Jeff Wadlow.
The Dominican government offers producers tax incentives to attract the international film industry.
The film is produced by PalmStar Media and Global Film Group and distributed by Netflix, the global provider of streaming movies and TV series.
The film tells the story of a writer whose editor makes everyone believe that his debut novel about a deadly murderer is a true story.
The film will contract technical and creative professionals from the local film industry.
Tax Incentives for International Film Producers
The film is the latest international production that is filmed in the country thanks to the recent tax incentive law on films. The law provides a 25% tax deduction on all film expenses generated in the Dominican Republic.
