More Airberlin Flights to Punta Cana and Puerto Plata
The German airline Airberlin, the country’s second largest airline, announced that beginning this May it will increase its number of flights to Punta Cana and Puerto Plata, specifically from Dusseldorf.
In Puerto Plata, the flights have been scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays and to Punta Cana on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The airline will operate with an Airbus 330-200.
Airberlin flies to 147 destinations worldwide, and in 2015 moved more than 30.2 million passengers.
In 2015 Germany became the first European nation with the largest number of its citizens traveling to the Dominican Republic.
In total, 247,613 Germans visited the country through its various international airports.
In 2014, the number registered 230,733. That same year 175,220 Germans visited Punta Cana, while 46,901 traveled to Puerto Plata.
