Ministry of Public Works expands the Malecon in Santo Domingo
Last week, the Ministry of Public Works began work on expanding Santo Domingo’s seafront boulevard, the Malecon. The works are concentrated in the western area near the new convention center, the largest of its kind in the country, built by the government at the Ministry of Foreign Relations. Diario Libre reports that barriers have been put in place along the avenue as far west as the Miramar neighborhood at around km 9 of the Malecon.
National District mayor-elect David Collado has said that the Malecon will be a priority for his administration.
