Medina cuts ribbon on RD$1.4B East region hospital
Higüey, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina on Sunday cut the ribbon for the new Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia Regional Hospital in the province of the same name, built at a cost of RD$1.4 billion, and will benefit thousands of poor families of the eastern region.
“The people of Higuey get a new hospital, a promised work, with architectural quality and equipped with the latest technology,” said State Supervisory Engineers Office (OISOE) director Francisco Pagán, accompanied by lawmakers, city officials, and religious leaders.
Pagan said public health has progressed during Medina’s administration, “achieving the necessary changes in our tired old hospital structures, a change for the newest and most modern, up to the needs of modern medicine, the most advanced technologies in medical science.”
