Medina cuts ribbon on overpass in Boca Chica
Boca Chica, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina on Friday headed the inaugural for a traffic interchange on the Las Americas highway, formed by an overpass at the entrance to Caucedo port, a return lane, two motorbike and pedestrian bridges, and the park at La Caleta.
Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo said the works save fuel, time and vehicle operating costs, impacting business, tourism and industry.
The works built by the contractors Risek and Moya were designed and supervised by Tecnoamerica, and include a 77 meter-long overpass and a ramp over 500 meters long.
The Caucedo overpass forms part of the first phase of the road project to improve traffic safety in and around Boca Chica, Castillo said.
