Medina cuts ribbon on overpass at Central Mountains town
Bonao, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina on Sunday cut the ribbon for the overpass at Piedra Blanca, central Monseñor Noel province, designed to help save lives time and fuel, and decongest traffic on the Duarte highway, according to Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo.
The 4-lane, 670 meter-long overpass had been demanded for years by both motorists and locals, some of whom were killed at the busy intersection, which handles traffic from the city of Cotui.
Castillo said the overpass is designed for a speed of 80 kph, has two merging lanes in both directions and features LED lighting.
