Hundreds of sugar cane workers demand pension at the National Palace
Santo Domingo.- Hundreds of elderly, former sugar cane workers on Monday resumed their protests outside the National Palace to demand a pension from the government.
The former sugarcane workers demand a pension and other benefits, marched to the National Palace where they chanted in protest.
They asked president Danilo Medina to conclude the process for the retirement of those who haven’t obtained a pension despite having worked in state-owned sugar mills and plantations for decades.
