Government freezes payroll to cut staff by July 31
Santo Domingo. – The government of the Dominican Republic ordered a freeze on its payroll, noting that it cannot designate new people as permanent employees and the employment contract of all staff contracted by government agencies must be terminate by July 31.
Outlet Acento.com.do reports that president Danilo Medina issued instructions that Presidency Administrative minister Jose Ramon Peralta must approve any new appointment.
The President’s instructions were communicated to all ministers and managers of all government agencies and related institutions on May 31, through the Presidency’s Administrative Ministry memo PR-IN-2016-13729.
