Government approves 385 charter flights from Europe
Santo Domingo.- The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) on March 2 approved 385 charter flights in addition to the 1,255 confirmed previously.
The new flights are expected to bring large numbers of tourists from several German and British cities from May to October.
Among the 210 operations approved by the JAC’s figure Thompson Airways Limited, covering routes from London and Manchester to Punta Cana and Puerto Plata.
Also from Manchester, the carrier Thomas Cook will conduct 57 direct flights to Punta Cana.
Non-scheduled passenger flights were also approved for Alitalia from Rome and for Plus Ultra from Madrid, in the Dominican international airports at La Romana and Santo Domingo
Moreover German airline Eurowings was authorized to operate 78 weekly charter flights from Cologne, Germany to Puerto Plata and Punta Cana.
