Four Dominicans enter Series Hall of Fame
With the induction of Tony Pena, Luis Polonia, Felipe Rojas Alou and Geronimo Berroa into the Caribbean Series Hall of Fame, the Dominican Republic now has an even dozen immortals enshrined in that institution.
According to the www.beisboldelcaribe.com website, these four players received 70% of the votes of journalists who cover the Professional Baseball Confederation of the Caribbean.
The CBPC Commissioner, Dominican Juan Francisco Puello Herrera said that they have been working since 1996 to achieve a good group of players and managers to go into their Hall of Fame, and this year as they celebrate the Hall of Fame’s 20th anniversary, they believe that they have achieved a real good number of candidates who are worthy of being enshrined.
