Father’s Day this Sunday
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic will celebrate Father’s Day Sunday, a tradition which serves to jump start sales that usually sag during the mid summer weeks.
In the Dominican Republic the holiday dates several decades, with commerce eager to boost sales from shoppers looking to give dad that special gift. This year shoppers set out since Friday to find more and better offers.
On the occasion of Father’s Day, President Danilo Medina said that “the world needs fathers who build harmonious, supportive families, who teach their sons and daughters the right way.”In his message to Dominican fathers, Medina pointed out that children will appreciate and recognize the daily efforts and sacrifices fathers have to make to meet their obligations and to cultivate the virtues and values that ennoble them.
