Dominican universities poorly ranked

Another challenge facing the country is to improve the quality of higher education as well as the primary and secondary levels of education. The 2015 ranking for Latin American and Caribbean universities carried out by Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd (QS), ranks Dominican universities towards the bottom of the list.

The highest ranking was awarded to PUCMM in Santiago, which is in 175th place out of 395 universities on the list, followed by UNIBE in 181st place. Then there is a big gap until INTEC in 308th place, UASD in 310th, UNPHU in 322nd, O&M in 337th, UCE in 354th, APEC in 370th, UCSD in 374th, UNICARIBE in 375th, and UCATECI in 391st.
