Dominican sprinter takes first in Italian competition

Italy.- As a phoenix rising from the ashes, sprinter Luguelín Santos on Tuesday clocked 45.21 seconds to win first place in the 400 meter dash of the 52nd annual games Palio Citta della Quercia, Memorial Edo Benedetti.

The Olympian silver medalist led the Jamaican Rusheen McDonald, whose time was 45.52 seconds while the also Jamaican Renny Quown took third with 45.85 seconds.

It’s Santos’ first major competition after an injury halted his participation in the Olympic Games in Rio.
