Dominican Republic and Emirates strengthen ties
Dubai.- Emirates Airlines, one of the world’s major airlines, hosted a meeting with a high-level delegation from Central and Latin America, including the Dominican Republic, at its Dubai headquarters, aiming to boost ties with the region.
According to Emirates.com, Dominican Counselor, Charge d’affaires, Eduardo Cintron, attended the meeting along with senior officials from Panama, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela and Uruguay.
With the official visit Emirates is examining mutually beneficial opportunities to enhance relationships, and further stimulate trade and leisure traffic flows between Dubai and Panama, and also with other markets in Central and South America.
Emirates announced it will launch services to Panama City, beginning 1 February, which will be the airline’s first gateway destination in Central America, and the only air direct air link between the Middle East and Central America.
