Dominican Musician Pachy Carrasco Has Died, Aged 47
The Dominican Republic native was admitted into hospital in Santo Domingo over the weekend (ends03Jan16), after suffering a cerebral haemorrhage at his home, according to Billboard.
Carrasco didn’t recover and he passed away on Tuesday (05Jan16), Premium Latin Music CEO Franklin Romero has confirmed.
The nephew of Dominican pop star Angela Carrasco, Pachy made a name for himself as the frontman of the band Bossa Pop.
He also worked as an arranger for independent music label Premium Latin Music, which counts Romeo Santos’ former band Aventura as one of its biggest clients.
Carrasco arranged a number of tropical music soundtracks for hit Dominican comedies such as Sanky Panky I and Sanky Panky II, which featured songs performed by popular artists, including Milly Quezada, Elvis Martínez, and Eddy Herrera.
