Dominican freedom fighter Hamlet Hermann dies at age 81
Santo Domingo.- Freedom fighter Hamlet Hermann died from a heart attack on Tuesday at the age of 81.
He was revolutionary activist who took part in the April 1965 Revolution and accompanied
guerrilla leader colonel Francisco Alberto Caamaño´s expedition in 1973, from which he survived together with Claudio Caamaño and Toribio Peña Jáquez.
An engineer by profession, the Santo Domingo native was the first ever director of the Metropolitan Transit Authority (Amet) and wrote several texts, including a biography on Caamaño.
