Dominican Clarissa Molina takes Latin beauty crown
Dominicans are celebrating the crowning of Clarissa Molina who has become the new “Nuestra Belleza Latina.” For second year in a row, a Dominican beauty queen has taken the coveted title for the island. Francisca Lachapel, for those who may recall, won “Nuestra Belleza Latina” in 2015. Molina is now the new reigning queen representing her beloved caribbean country.
During the grand finale of “Nuestra Belleza Latina’s” VIP edition —where 12 previous contestants returned for the crown— Colombian Bárbara Turbay was named the third finalist and Puerto Rican Catherine Castro took the second finalist spot yet again just as she did last season when she first competed for the show. Julión Álvarez performed live, while Setareh Khatib and Clarissa Molina walked one last time as contestants before one of them became the new Latina beauty queen.
The big moment finally came, and Francisca took one last walk down the runway as Nuestra Belleza Latina and crowned her fellow 24-year-old Dominican, who won the audience’s votes and was able to finally win the coveted crown. The charismatic Mexican finalist, Setareh, was named first finalist, nabbing the CEA Scholarship.
