David Ortiz sets another final-season record
Houston.- Dominican slugger David Ortiz continues his dominance over pitchers in the final days of his career, setting another record in the majors on Friday, underling his status as one of Latin America’s most formidable ballplayers, EFE reports.
Ortiz blasted a two-run homer and set a record for a player in his final season in the Boston Red Sox’s 2-1 win over Tampa Bay.
The slugger, who hit his 37th home run, connected a first inning pitch and reached 124 RBIs, passing Joe Jackson on the all-time list for the best record in a final season, in 1920.
