China has US$25B for Dominican tourism
Santo Domingo.- China’s Business Development representative in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday said Beijing has US$25 billion available to finance tourism infrastructure and other areas of the country.
Fu Xinrong said the Dominican Republic can access the funds despite not having diplomatic ties with her country.
She noted however that the country needs to improve the infrastructure conditions and services to tourists, noting that as an example, Chinese travelers demand more than sun, sea and sand.
“Despite Dominican Republic have mature infrastructure in tourist areas there are other points that need improvement such as diversify the supply to the consumers.
“And something very important, to prepare the tour guides to speak Mandarin” the official said, interviewed on Neon 89.3FM.
