Canadian investor scammed out of nearly US$7M wants Medina’s help
Santo Domingo.- Canadian investor Raul Boisse on Sunday asked president Danilo Medina and Supreme Court chief justice Mariano Germán, to order an investigation into why the courts of Higüey fail to proceed with his accusation that he was scammed out of millions of dollars when buying land in Sabana de la Mar, Hato Mayor province (east).
The Canadian businessman said Dominican justice has been very flexible with those who scammed him by resorting to a series of ruses and schemes in the deal.
“These criminals have taken advantage of some influence to bring down a tourism project I intended to build on that site for which was destined to invest RD$150 million (US$6.9 million) with other Canadian partners, intending to build a tourism project for the country, with nearly 1,000 direct jobs for the Dominican brothers,” Boisse said.
