Blasts at three gas stations in less than a month are suspicious

Santo Domingo.- Vice President Margarita Cedeño said the blasts at three gas stations in less than a month are suspicious at a time when the Dominican Republic is going through a pre-election process, El Nuevo Diario reported Friday.

Cedeño said the authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the real causes of the explosions occurred in Great Santo Domingo and San Jose de las Matas, in Santiago, leaving three dead, dozens injured and several damages to homes and vehicles.

“The facts are under investigation, we do not know the reason why these events are happening, for they are very rare in our society. A thorough investigation will determine the causes and will lead to take all precautionary measures needed,” she said.

The Vice President made these statements when approached by reporters at the Children and Youth Library “Dominican Republic” after announcing the National Contest for the Creation of Software Intellisys Challenge, whose winner will receive a million pesos.
