Authorities ban alcohol sales from Good Friday to Holy Saturday
Santo Domingo.- The Interior and Police Ministry (MIP) announced safety measures will be increased during the Easter break and reminded that all centers that sell alcoholic beverages must remain closed from 12 midnight Good Friday until the same time on Holy Saturday.
Minister Jose Ramon Fadul also banned the use of public roads to install inflatable pools near the places where alcoholic beverages are sold.
Some of the deaths and injuries that are reported every year during the Easter holiday are attributed to alcohol consumption. According to the authorities, the ban on alcohol sales during Holy Week is an attempt to reduce accidents and crimes.
