AMResorts chain will invest in Hotel Playa Dorada
On February 15 Apple Leisure Group, through its hotel chain AMResorts will come to Puerto Plata, after investing more than RD $ 10 million to remodel the current Barceló Playa Dorada, as reported by the Deputy Minister of Tourism for the North, Julio Almonte.
The entry of the American chain belonging to the tourist group led by Alex Zozaya in Puerto Plata, as well as the Carnival cruise port and other infrastructure projects have generated that fate to set a goal to receive two million tourists, and by end the year with the arrival of more than 450 thousand tourists at General Gregorio Luperon Airport. “In our plans is by 2019 to achieve full recovery of the region,” Alex Zozaya said.
Currently, Puerto Plata has more than 15,000 rooms but it is estimated that soon it could reach more than 20,000. To reach the final launch of the destination, the businessmen linked to the tourist sector are working together with the Ministry of Tourism, an institution that has proven to be very committed to the development of the north coast.
