AA incorporates a higher capacity aircraft en route from Charlotte to Puerto Plata
Due to the success of the new American Airlines flight from Charlotte, NC to the Gregorio Luperon International Airport (AIGL) of Puerto Plata, the US airline decided to incorporate a plane of higher passenger capacity.
The company decided to change the aircraft type from a A319 to a A320, which can carry 56 passengers more.
The Airbus A319 can accommodate 124 passengers, while the A320 aircraft to 180. The Charlotte-Puerto Plata route is served every Saturday.
According to central bank figures, last year r 124,514 US passengers reached the Dominican Republic by Gregorio Luperon International Airport.
Charlotte is a city in Mecklenburg County in the US state of North Carolina and according to the 2004 US Census, it has a population of 594,359 inhabitants.
