6 beaches and river accesses closed in the Puerto Plata province
PUERTO PLATA – The director of Civil Defense in Puerto Plata; Whascar Garcia, reported that in order to preserve lives during the Preventive Operation “Easter Segura 2016″, the Committee for Emergency Operations (COE) ordered the closure of 6 beaches in this province due to their dangerous spots and high pollution.
Garcia said that until Easter Sunday, everything is ready for Preventive Operation “Easter Segura 2016″ as expected, more than 500 brigades will be providing services in all places of the Puerto Plata province.
Every year the authorities choose to close down Poza Del Castillo y Acapulco beaches located on the boardwalk in Puerto Plata due to high pollution of waters, and bathing is prohibited on the beaches of Sosua Ocean Village, La Hilera y El Canal de Cabarete, en la Poza de Marigate y en la Boca del Río Bajabonico en La Isabela.
According to brigadiers of the various relief agencies such as Civil Defense, Red Cross, Rescue Amber, Rescue Scorpion, Municipal Fire and Rescue Atlantic being supported by soldiers from the Air Base of Puerto Plata and agents of the National Police, reported enforcement prevention regulations to avoid the occurrence of unfortunate events during the Easter holidays.
