Woman sprayed in the face with pepper spray by a police officer in Cabarete is in critical condition
PUERTO PLATA Mrs. Cecilia González (Celia) was assaulted pushed and pepper sprayed in the face during a peaceful protest that took place in Cabarete last Monday .
González is now in a private clinic in Puerto Plata, where her family complained to reporters that this lady unable to speak or open her eyes, after an agent of the National Police deliberately sprayed her with pepper spray in the face.
The president of the board of residents of La Loma in Cabarete; Jesús María Sánchez, emphasized that the actions of police officers headed by a major who runs the Province of Sosua was a tremendous abuse, since he started aggresive actions against participants in a peaceful march for more claims on the beach of the resort.
Sanchez said that in a reprehensible action, a young woman from the National Police, entirely smiling and without any justification, proceeded to sprinkle the face of Mrs. Cecilia González (Celia) with pepper spray, the victim since then has not recovered and still hospitalized, as she is in a state of convalescence.
