Watchman suspect of RD$17 million robbery in Santiago
A 39-year old security guard is suspected of stealing a security truck transporting valuables worth around RD$17 million. The Police suspects Vicente Reyes Paulino of stealing the money when his two colleagues left to pick up valuables from La Sirena located in El Embrujo, Santiago. According to the Police, Reyes Paulino, in the company of Delvi Guzman Perez and Alberto Antonio Abreu Vasquez arrived at the store in a Daihatsu truck belonging to the G4S values transport company to pick up the deposit. Afterwards, the truck was found at Calle 7 of La Zurza slum neighborhood. When the truck was searched, only two packages of money and 12 delivery receipts were found. A taxi driver, Jose Antonio Rodriguez confirmed he had transported Reyes Paulino from La Zurza and recalled seeing him carrying two bags.
The Police say that Reyes Paulino had been prosecuted for robbery in 1999.
