Two key hotels in the D.R. enter prestigious Luxury International Networks

In 2014 the Occidental El Embajador Hotel and the Eden Roc at Cap Cana joined two prestigious international networks of luxury hotels.

The former is now a prestigious member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts chain, present in 85 international locations, eight of them in the Caribbean, while the latter became the first hotel in the Dominican Republic to join the world-renowned Relais & Châteaux chain of hotels.

The Preferred Hotels & Resorts is a brand of the Preferred Hotel Group™, a global player in the hospitality industry representing more than 650 of the world’s finest hotels and resorts.

The Occidental El Embajador Hotel is the second hotel in the Dominican Republic chosen to represent this brand in the Dominican Republic.

The first was the world-famous Casa de Campo resort.

The Relais & Châteaux is a private hotel association recognized among the best in the world.

El Embajador

Built in 1956, the iconic Occidental El Embajador has for decades occupied a very prestigious spot among the country’s top-rated and most distinguished hotels.

Situated in the very heart of Santo Domingo, the Occidental Hotel chain has invested US$10 million in the renovation of the hotel’s key areas in order to reaffirm its position as one of the country’s most prestigious hotel facilities.

El Embajador is a favorite among foreign dignitaries and business executives visiting Santo Domingo.

The five-star, 278-room El Embajador features two bars, two restaurants, a business center, free Wi-Fi service, meeting rooms that can accommodate 700 guests, a spa, swimming pool and casino.

The Eden Roc

This boutique hotel is located 20 minutes from the Punta Cana International Airport.

The hotel features 34 individual suites, each with its own swimming pool and relaxation area, and free Wi-Fi connection. Included among the suites is the three-bedroom Black Horse and the Golden Shell Suite, featuring four luxurious rooms.

It also features a 4,090 square-foot swimming pool, the Solaya Spa, Koko Kid’s Club, a meeting room and access to the Punta Espada Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus.

The Eden Roc facility in the Dominican Republic operated by the Solaya Hotel & Resorts chain, and is one of seven properties operated by Relais & Châteaux in the Caribbean region. This brand includes a unique collection of over 520 of the best luxury hotels and restaurants in 60 countries.
